A practice shaped by curiosity, structure, and feeling.

Rooted in materials science and expanded through design,
my work explores how we create meaning through both matter and experience.

Ailet Õis-Saar

With a background in materials science and years of experience
in applied research and innovation, my work began in the world of structure,
performance, and real-world application.

Over time, that focus expanded.

Today, my practice moves between biomaterials and sensory creation —
between what can be measured and what can be felt.

This duality is not a contrast, but a continuity.

A systems way of seeing

I approach both materials and sensory work through the same lens —
as systems that influence perception, behavior, and experience.

Whether developing a material or designing a sensory concept,
the question remains the same:

How does this shape the way we feel, interact, and connect?

This perspective brings together analytical thinking and intuition,
precision and openness, structure and softness.

How I work
In practice

On one side, this means developing bio-based materials
that respond to real-world needs and industrial contexts.

On the other, it means creating sensory concepts
that invite presence, curiosity, and emotional connection.

Both are part of the same exploration.

I value clarity, depth, and thoughtful execution.

My approach is both structured and intuitive —
combining scientific understanding with a sensitivity
to aesthetics and human experience.

I work best in environments where curiosity is welcomed,
and where ideas are allowed to evolve into something meaningful.

“A way of working that brings together precision and presence.”

For those seeking depth, sensory resonance, and structural clarity in their material systems.

If this way of thinking resonates,

I’m always open to connecting — whether around materials,

design, or new ideas still taking shape.
